On the occasion of Civil Service Day celebration held at New Delhi today, Vice President Hamid Ansari presented the prestigious Prime Minister Administrative Excellence Award to the Government of Manipur.
The award has been conferred in connection with the achievements of the State Government in preparing the Manipur Government Employees' List (MGEL) and putting in place a computerised personal information system of the employees through setting up of a separate directorate.
Former Chief Secretary of Manipur and current DoNER Secretary Jarnail Singh, former Finance Commissioner and present Joint Secretary of Forest and Environment Government of India RR Rashmi, former Secretary DP) L Sunderlal, Special Secretary Finance K Radhakumar and two staff of NIC namely Budhimala and Seitamala accepted the award on behalf on behalf of the Government of Manipur.
The award carries Rs 5 lakhs in cash, a gold medal and a citation.
In the individual category, the award has also been conferred on IFS officer Nengcha who hails from Kangpokpi of Manipur but is currently posted as Ambassador of India to Lebanon.
