Zomi Nam Ni at BOAT

The sixty-fourth edition of Zomi Nam Ni celebration will be held at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre in Imphal on February 20 under the theme 'cultural conformity,' the event organiser Zomi Students' Federation said.
As the Nam Ni that seeks to celebrate the Zomi culture and heritage made its debut in Imphal the organisers have made extra effort to ensure that the event was a memorable one.
Many of the political elites in the state including the Chief Minister, MPCC(I) President, tribal ministers of the state, Chairmen of ADCs, their Executive Members and councilors, and representative from UNC, Kuki Inpi, Hmar Inpui and Mizo Peoples' Convention would attend the festival.
Other crowd pulling personalities invited included popular actors Sadananda, Gokul and actress Abenao.
Well known artiste from Mizoram�Mami Varte and Lalhmangaihzuali and Guru Rewben Mashangva of Ukhrul have also confirmed their participation, the organisers said.
Addressing the press for a second time within a week here today, the organisers have requested all institutions here to observe the Nam Ni as a holiday while also requesting the government employees to attend the festival.
