Imphal, May 10 2010:
In continuation with the efforts of Red Shield Division towards conflict Resolution in Manipur, Headquarters 27 Sector Assam Rifles is going to organize a one day seminar on the "Role of NGOs and Community based Organizations in peace and Development" on May 15 at 9.00 am at the Golnop Hall at Churachandpur.
A press release from PIB (DW) informed that Brigadier Surendra Mehta, Commander 27 Sector Assam Rifles will deliver the opening & keynote address.
The seminar will have three session and three themes�"Contribution of NGOs and Community Based organization towards Achieving and Maint Peace", "Education�Road Map to Peace and Development" and "A Holistic Outlook of Govt and Security Force Activities in Complimenting and Preventing Conflict with NGOs Overall Mission in the Area".
P Vaiphei, Commissioner FCS, will chair the first session in which Mrs Esther Gangte, Lecturer, Ccpur College will speak on "Activities manifesting peace in an area" and Rev Khen P Tombing will deliver a talk on Role of youth and Church organization for lasting peace.
J Lhungdim, Planning Adviser, NEC will chair the second Session during which Dr John Pulamte, Ex President ATSUM will speak on "Community involvement in strengthening Govt efforts in infrastructure development" and Dr Dallian Haokip, Principal Bluestar Academy will deliberate on "A holistic look on role of NGOs in the spread of quality education".
The last session will be moderated by Ms Jacintha Lazarus, DC, Churachandpur.
Senny Vaiphei, Project Assistant & Liaison Officer, Doctors' without Borders (MSF-H) shall speak on "Assistance and review on NGO activity" while Dr B Langkham, Director (HIV/AIDS) EHA would deliver a talk on "Security concerns of NGOs in insurgency affected area".
Major General D S Hooda, VSM ** GOC Red Shield Division will give the closing address.
