CM inaugurates three-day Haj 2012 Orientation/Training of Pilgrims

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has inaugurated a three-day Haj 2012 Orientation/Training of Pilgrims at Madrassa Alia, Lilong today.
In his address to the gathering, Ibobi called upon the Haj pilgrims of Manipur to pray at the Mecca for the restoration of peace and tranquillity in the State.
Noting that about 400 pilgrims from Manipur would be heading for the Haj, the CM also exuded confidence that the orientation/training programme conducted by experienced clerics would not only instill confidence upon the pilgrims but would also facilitate safe and purposeful journey to the holy place.
Terming individuals who had visited or would be visiting the Mecca as blessed ones, he reiterated his appeal to the Muslim brethren to pray for peace and amity in Manipur.
Agriculture Minister Md Abdul Nasir, Manipur State Haj Committee chairperson MLA Md Amin Shah and Madrassa Alia's Moulana S Nooruddin also called upon the pilgrims to pray and work for communal harmony and peace in Manipur.
The pilgrims are scheduled to leave for the Mecca on September 29 .
