Samajwadi Party, Manipur Pradesh has strongly opposed to hike in the price of petrol and diesel by the UPA Government at the Centre and said it is against the interest of the people and demanded rolling back of the fuel price.
In a statement, State unit party secy Chabungbam Premchandra Singh pointed out that it is the seventh instances of hiking the price of petrol and diesel since Dr Manmohan Singh led coalition UPA Govt came to power.
Hike in the price of petrol and diesel would have its far reaching effect, the statement said, adding the fare of transportation of essential goods would be increased as a consequence of the rise in the fuel rpice and this would cause more suffering to the people of Manipur whose source of income are very limited.
