Dimapur, February 05 2013:
Naga People's Front (NPF) President and regional stalwart Dr.Shrhozelie today said that the NPF led DAN Government is a government of achievements.
Replying to the Congress allegation that the NPF government was a ribbon cutting government, Dr.Shrhozelie agreed with the Congress saying that only when projects and development initiatives are completed, ribbons are cut.
He said that it was our tradition to offer dedicatory prayers and then cut the ribbon every time something new is completed.
He said that the more ribbon we cut, the more achievements we are completing.
We have been cutting ribbons almost every day, he said.
The NPF president was speaking at the NPF rally held in Phek town ahead of the filing of nominations of the NPF candidates.
Responding to the Congress booklet of allegations, the NPF president fired back saying that the booklet is filled with false allegations and lies.
The Congress people are habitual liars and all their allegations in the book have been accurately and factually answered with facts and figures in the assembly, Dr.Shurhozelie said.
Their booklet is only about money and allegations filled with lies.
He further said that the Congress is a divided house with three chief ministerial candidates without realising that they cannot have a chief minister when they are sure to sit in the opposition.
Let them sit in opposition and decide who their chief minister will be, he said.
The NPF president once again clarified that the NPF never committed that it would bring political solution within three months.
This is just another lie of the Congress, he said.
Also speaking at the election rally, Medical minister and sitting MLA from Phek town, Kuzhuluzo Neinhu, stated that the NPF is a peaceful and violent free party.
He assured the public that the NPF would abide by the model code of conduct and appealed to the NPF supporters to adhere to the election guidelines.
He further appealed to the electorate of Phek district to come out and support the NPF candidates in all the five assembly segments.
The rally was attended by all five NPF candidates of Phek district, namely, Neiba Kronu, Deo Nukhu, Chotisuk Sazo and Yitachu.
Others present at the rally included NPF working president Huska, NPF vice president Pusazo, veteran politician Chingwang Konyak and a host of senior political leaders and public leaders.
Meanwhile, veteran politician, two time Member of Parliament and seven times MLA, Chingwang Konyak today declared that the people of the ENPO areas want Rio as the Chief Minister of the state.
Addressing an NPF rally at Phek town and sharing the dais with senior NPF leaders including the Chief Minister and NPF President Dr.Shrhozelie, Konyak said that the initiatives of Rio in development of the backward areas, women development and youth empowerment were some the several initiatives that were being welcomed by the people of his area.
He also appreciated the role of the Chief Minister and the state government in taking up policies and programmes that are aimed at promoting and preserving the culture and heritage of the Naga people especially in the backward areas.
The world is coming to appreciate and recognise the Nagas though these efforts which are being implemented by Rio, Chingwang said.
On the status of the Congress party, the senior former Congress leader said that the Congress in Nagaland is divided.
In five years, the Congress has had four party presidents, namely Hokheto, KV Pusa, I.IMkong and SI jamir, he said, adding that even the post of leader of opposition has changed hands three times in five years through I.Imkong, Chingwang Konyak and Tokheho.
This has left me frustrated as the party is not united and moreover my people are with Rio and therefore I have to be with my people, the veteran leader stated.
Chingwang recalled how crores and lakhs of rupees were spent on Congress organisational elections with Congress leaders moving from place to place dividing.
He recalled how he had helped build up the Congress party in Nagaland and that he had spent 44 years in the political arena.
He assured the gathering that the "Congress will not win the forthcoming elections as the people want Rio's leadership" adding that maximum number of seats in ENPO areas will be won by the NPF.
"NPF will form the next government under the leadership of Rio, he predicted.
He also recalled his meeting with the Prime Minister, when he was in Congress, "the prime Minister expressed his happiness and satisfaction with the performance of the Rio government" .
Meanwhile, Nagaland chief minister and NPF leader Neiphiu Rio today told a mammoth gathering at Phek district that the regional cock party is going from strength to strength.
The NPF has given stability to Nagaland and stability has ensured development and progress, the chief minister said.
Addressing the NPF rally at Phek, the CM said that his party is ready to pave way in the event of a political solution, "be it one day, one week, one month or one year from the day of formation of a new government".
If political solution comes, we are ready to pave way, Rio asserted, but reminded that the Congress has never given such a commitment to the Naga people.
