Six UGs held, arms recovered

Imphal, January 05 2011:
Troops of 23 and 39 Assam Rifles arrested four KCP (city Meitei) and one UNLF activist during the course of a search operation launched at Hundron area of Ukhrul district on January 4 .
A PRO IGAR (S) release identified the arrested UNLF cadre as Indrajit alias Chura Singh alias Ithoi (28) s/o (L) Huidrom Chaoba Singh of huidrom Makha Leikai while the KCP (City Meitei) cadres have been named as Huidrom Herojit alias Ngongo Singh (28) s/o H Rajen Singh, Huidrom naotomba alias naoton (25) s/o H Chaoba Singh, Huidrom Indra alias Gangaou (25) s/o (L) H Chaoba Singh and Huidrom Mahendra (30) s/o H Ibocha Singh, all from Huidrom Makha Leikai.
All five have been handed over to Lamlai police station, the release maintained while adding that one PULF (Azad) cadre namely Md Ali (44) s/o Juman Miyan of Abhanga in Tripura was arrested from Bamon Leikai (Thoubal district) by troops of 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector on January 5 at around 12.30 am.
Informed to be deputy home secretary of the armed outfit, Md Ali has been reportedly handed over to Yairipok police station.
In another instance, troops of 12 AR of 10 Sector carried out search operation at Makhlankhong area on January 4 resulting in recovery of one AK 47 rifle with three magazines and 40 live rounds of 7.62 mm, and one Yaesu radio set.
Meanwhile, troops of 29 AR of 26 Sector arrested four Myanmarese nationals travelling without valid documents in a Maruti Van (MN01K/3818) at around 11.30 am of January 4 .
The four arrested from near Sita Junction on the NH-39 have been identified as David (25) s/o Thoung Tin, Md Subir Alam (28) s/o Md Abu Khan, Md Imran (20) s/o (L) Md Aseo Rehman and Md Sukur (21) s/o Md Liyakat Ali.
All four hailing from Arkant (Myanmar) have been handed over to tengnoupal police station, the PRO release.
