Condemning the action of the Imphal West police team led by its SDPO Gourakishore in disrupting the leadership training camp organised by All India Students; Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council at its Kabo Leikai office, the students� body has decided to file court case against the SDPO.
The training camp which was to be held for three days began yesterday with 77 delegates including 33 females taking part in it.
Talking to media persons this afternoon, AISF secretary Kh Inaobi asserted that the point 54 broad office land of the AISF at Kabo Leikai was allotted to the students� body by the then Director of Settlement and Land records Madan Jha on January 14, 1970.Following a controversy over the possession of the said plot of land, the matter was resolved by the Court.
As per the order issued by Civil Judge, Senior Division No.II, Manipur East in December 2004, AISF was allowed to continue to have it office at the said plot of land while giving restriction on entry of outsiders, he recalled.
Inaobi further informed that copy of the Court order were duly despatched to DGP, SPs of Imphal West and West and OC Imphal from the side of AISF on December 23, 2004.The leadership training was conducted in the office of the AISF in consonance with the Court order.
Nor there was any restriction imposed in and around the office complex, he asserted, and added that the police team came suddenly at around 10.30 am today and asked to come out all the male campers.
When the copy of the Court order was also shown, the SDPO said he did not interest in it and threw it away, while using rude and unparliamentary language and beating up the AISF representatives, he lamented while denouncing the action of the SDPO.
Informing that two persons identified as Hemanta of Lamlai and Kesho of Lamshang sustained injuries in the police action and were hospitalised, Inaobi said, AISF would be lodging a contempt case against the SDPO in the law Court.
He also demanded transfer of SDPO Gourakishore from Imphal.
AISF have also urged CPI State secretary, and other party�s Ministers and MLAs to put pressure on the Government for taking up action against Gaurakishore, he disclosed.
