Many people of Tousem sub-divisions in Tamenglong district have been reportedly hospitalised after they were affected by the dreaded Hanta virus which is believed to breed in Uchina, an edible fungi which sprouts on trees.
According to reports received from Tamenglong, half the members of one family in Tousem subdivisions are presently being hospitalised and undergoing treatment at the Community Health Centre.
The exact number of people, who have been affected by the virus, however, could not been ascertained, though the reports claimed that many people of the sub-divisions have been infected by the dreaded virus.
Vomiting, stomach ache and fever are said to the some of the visible symptoms of the infection.
A team of doctors and nurses from Tamenglong district have also rushed in along with medicine to content outbreak of the epidemic.
