Imphal, October 18 2009:
Claiming that the Chief Minister has agreed to work for a solution to the present impasse involving class boycott, the All Manipur Students Guardians' Organisation (AMSGO) has appealed to the ATSUM and DESAM to put off the proposed public meeting scheduled on October 21 for sometime.
The AMSGO also expressed regret over emotionally charged speeches made by some guardians during the meeting of October 14 and press meet of October 17 which went contradictory to the people's movement.
A press release issued by AMSGO said that they submitted a memorandum to the Government during a meeting with the Chief Minister on October 16 which was also attended by many Cabinet Ministers.
In response to the memorandum, the Government assured to initiate negotiation with the agitators with regard to the July 23 incident.
