Moreh, March 16:
People of Moreh today took out a peace rally at the border town under the joint aegis of Moreh based Hill Tribal Council, Kuki Women's Union & Human Rights and KSO (Moreh Block).
The rally starting from Gangam Lentol ground at around 8.30 am marched through Ward No 4, Gate No 2, Nepali Basti, Muslim Basti, Chavangphai, Chingdong Leikai etc before congregating at the starting point where a public meeting was also held.

The rallyists held placards demanding protection from the Indian Govt, release of abducted persons and condemning growing instance of abducting villagers.
The rally organisers also read out contents of memoranda prepared for submission to the Union Home Minister and Chief Minister.
Beyond the boundary of the trade town Myanmarese military men have reportedly intensified patrolling of vulnerable border pockets to check unauthorised crossing of border.
On the otherhand, the bandh imposed in the town is having its impact upon the general public as trade activities came to a standstill, large number of non-local commuters facing inconveniences due to cessation of transport service and depletion of stock of essential commodities.
The hardship is likely to be eased to some extent as agitation sponsors had decided to lift the bandh for a day tomorrow.
