Imphal, July 14 2009:
With a view to curb the increasing havoc in traffic of the state, Manipur Motor Driving School located at Tera Thangapat Mapal, Imphal, would soon launch a road accident controlling section in the Imphal town.
It would be launched in collaboration with the traffic police, police department and Manipur motor driving school.
Addressing a press conference today in Imphal, Naorem Shantikumar, secretary of Manipur Motor Driving School revealed that 90 per cent of the people of Manipur do not have the road and driving sense.
If the officials of the transport department and motor vehicle department follow the rules and regulations in a proper manner, the traffic problem would be minimized automatically, asserted Shantikumar.
Alleging the transport department of issuing the driving license without the learned certificate from the driving school, Shantikumar further said that it was the duty of the transport department to instruct the public about the procedures of obtaining the drivers license.
Informing about the driving school of educating both driving and mechanism theory of the motor vehicles to the students, the driving school secretary stated that the Manipur driving institute has produced over 1621 students.
Further, the school offers short-term courses for 10 days amounting to the fees of Rs.1,800 and long-term courses for a month amounting to the fees of Rs.3,000, added Shantikumar.
