Lamka, May 14 2011:
The block level training of the Congress party on the UPA's flagship schemes held today at Kangvai village under Henglep AC here observed repetitive calls for electing more congress MLAs from the district in the next Assembly election.
"It is time we have six Congress MLAs from the district and not just three as is the case now.
We need to adopt a stronger and better Congress Government," IPR Minister TN Haokip told the gathering.
Ensuring a proper implementation of the 15 schemes which the party has identified as the UPA and SPF Government's flagship programmes will instinctively alleviate us and our society, said T Manga Vaiphei, the local MLA.
The block level workers have to ensure that the schemes are rightfully implemented and that they have reached the targeted population, he added.
Echoing the call for electing more number of Congress MLAs from the district, MPCC (I) President Gainkhanngam had an elaborated discussion of what he said is the basis and inspiration behind the flagship programmes and claimed that choosing the party is the only condition for development.
