A team of ADC Chandel led by its chairman Lhukhosei Zou visited Chandel district head quarters to take first hand account of the developmental works being carried out under the award of 13th Finance Commissioner.
It was the first inspection visit of Lhukhosei Zou after assuming the charge of chairman of ADC Chandel.
Vice chairman of the Council and other executive members accompanied him during the inspection.
On arrival at the district headquarters, team called on Deputy Commissioner of Chandel district to discuss the developmental works being implemented in Chandel district headquarters.
Later on, the Chairman attended the interview for selection of beneficiaries under KVI trade of PMGP programme conducted at District Emergency Operation Centre as one of the Interview Board members.
After inspecting the progress of the construction works on the office complex and quarters of ADC Chandel being carried under the award of 13th Finance Commission at a place some 2.5 kms away from the district headquarters, the chairman addressed a meeting of the Council staff.
In the meeting, the Chairman exhorted all the staff for co-operation and support towards ensuring commencement of classes in all the schools under the Council from the next academic session and also towards bringing about quality education.
Explaining that the office of ADC Chandel is functioning from Imphal on account of restriction from some quarters even after the election has been over for 5 months now, the Chairman also appealed to the staff for dedication and sincerity in performing their duties.
Maintaining that the Government of Manipur has been giving special emphasis on development of hill areas, he disclosed that the Government of India has sanctioned a special package of Rs 10 crores for the development of Chandel district alone.
In addition to this, work programmes have been made for construction of one guest house in each of the ADC Assembly Constituency and water reservoir in some places where there is the problem of water, the chairman informed the gathering.
Pointing out that there is the need for proper fencing around the office complex of ADC Chandel and deployment of the required security personnel, the chairman expressed confidence that more developmental works could be taken up if there is no restriction and the office of the Council would be shifted to the district headquarters.
