Imphal, July 06 2010:
Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies (FREINDS) will organize a three day photo exhibition on the theme "Preserve Human Rights" at the Auditorium Hall of Manipur Press Club at Majorkhul, Imphal West.
The exhibition will start from 11 am of July 10.The past and present history of Manipur will be shown in the exhibition.
Some of the photos to be displayed in the exhibition will deal on � flags of independent Manipur, maps, insignias of soldiers fighting for freedom, Anglo-Manipur War 1891, the conditions of Manipur after 14 August 1947, merger of Manipur to India, the controversy surrounding Kabo Valley, the sufferings inflicted on people of Manipur by NSCN(IM) from 1992, history of Naga Club and subsequent attainment of Nagaland state, the demand/extortion notes of NSCN(IM), etc.
FRIENDS's aim of organizing this photo exhibition is to make the international community familiarize with Manipur.
The exhibition will be made known worldwide through electronic medium like internet.
FRIENDS welcomes any constructive suggestions from the general public on how to make this exhibition a success, informed a press release issued today by its Assistant Publicity Secretary, W Santa Meetei.
