Imphal, January 24:
Alleging that the text books being produced by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur for class I to V lack quality and the content of some of these text books have been directly lifted from some other books, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has warned of launching various agitations if the Government do not rectify these irregularities.
In a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister, the students' body accused the Board of lifting the content of the text books from other books instead of writing new text books.
Moreover, the syllabus of some of the subjects have become far more inferior.
All these are the outcome of the State Government's hasty decision and action, the memorandum maintained.
The students' body also decried the inability of the Board to bring out the text in time and made them available in the market.
This would definitely delay in commencement of the academic session, the memorandum pointed.
