The Bharat Nirman Campaign of sensitising the people on the flagship programmes of the UPA Government at the Centre would also be held Bishnunaha Community hall, Yairipok in Thoubal district.
Addressing a press conference in this connection at the PIB Imphal office, Old Lambulane here today, media advisor and communication officer L Premlata explained being conducted by PIB in collaboration with its sister offices is to be conducted all over the country.
In Manipur too, the campaign is to cover all the districts.
It would be conducted in Thoubal district from November 25 to 27.It would be 10th such campaign in the State.
For ensuring the success of the campaign, a core committee of the offices under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting like PIB, Directorate of Film Publicity, Song and Drama Division and Directorate of Advertising and Vidual Publicity has been formed.
The activities of the committee are being supported by All Indian Radio and Doordarshan.
The main highlight of the campaign is to create awareness among the people on the flagship programmes like National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Right to Information Act (RTI), Prime Minister's 15point programmes for welfare of minorities, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Mid Day Meal, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), Rural Electrification, Rural Drinking Water supply, Rural Housing (Indira Awaj Yojana), Rural Telephony, Total Sanitation, etc.
Theme based cultural programmes, putting up exhibition stalls by the Departments concerned, free medical camp, public meeting and painting competition are other highlights of the campaign.
Around 19 stalls including Government Departments and Non-Governmental Organisations would also be displaying their office activities during the campaign, Premlata added.
Minister Erabot promises improvement : The persisting crisis of shortage of petrol and diesel in Manipur would be considerably mitigated in the next few days, assured Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Y Erabot.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distriction Erabot informed that uninterrupted transportation of fuel oils following improvement in the condition of highways has improved the stock levels of petrol and diesel.
On being enquired about sale of fuel oils in black markets, Erabot said that his Department can seize fuel oils being sold in black markets but the Home Department which is responsible for dealing with such unlawful activities has been sitting idle without taking up any punitive action.
Meanwhile, information received from the IOC said that 10 tankers have left Imphal to bring in fuel oils along NH 53 .
