Kohima, August 21:
Irked over failure of the NSCN-K authority to fulfil their charter of demands for justice over the August 16 shooting incident in Kohima, the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) and Angami Students' Union (ASU) expressing their frustration and resentment towards the faction would resume second phase agitation by imposing 12-hour total bandh within its jurisdiction (whole Kohima and its vicinity) on August 22 from 6 am to 6 pm.
The decision to this effect was taken during a meeting of the all the Range and Unit officials of AYO and ASU held at ASU office today, revealed ASU president Kelhouneizo Yhome.
He also said that the decision was taken in view of the NSCN-K authority to meet their four-point charter of demand put forth through a public a meeting held on August 18 in Kohima.
Out of the four demands, one of the major demands of AYO & ASU was to hand over the accused identified as 'ss sgt.
maj.' Yehokhu Sema of NSCN-K for his alleged attempt on the life of two Angami leaders Medo Yhokha, Ex-President ASU and Neiketuozo Kuotsu.
Besides, asking all the factions to move to their designated camps and not to roam in public places with arms.
However, it is reported that the NSCN-K had blatantly refused to handover Yehokhu Sema but initiated action against him by awarding 'forced discharge' and would also award capital punishment considering the gravity of the case.
Nonetheless, the students and youth bodies have been adamant of their demands that the culprit should be produced before them and ask for personal forgiveness in front of the victims.
Further, Kelhouneizo reiterating their earlier resolution also disclosed that not only vehicles even pedestrians and students appearing examinations would not be allowed to move around during the 12-hour bandh tomorrow.
Pharmacies, hospitals, police & security forces, medical, funeral services and press & media persons are exempted from the purview of the bandh.
Meanwhile, AYO and ASU have appealed to all public and concern citizens, to fully cooperate and assist the them during the bandh which has been undertaken with the intention of eradicating and casting out anti-social elements in and around the State.
