State nursing gets a boost up

Upgradation and redesignation of the post of Nursing Superintendent and Deputy Nursing Superintendent, which were under the Deputy Director of Directorate of Health Services, as Joint Director Nursing and Deputy Director Nursing respectively has been hailed as a step towards all round development in services related to nursing in the State.
Talking to mediapersons today afternoon staff of the Nursing School, Directorate of Health Services said that upgradation and redesignation of the post of Nursing Superintendent and Deputy Nursing Superintendent has been one of their long standing demands and the Government has finally implemented it.
It may be noted here that the Joint Director of Health and Family Welfare had issued an order on May 11 in connection with upgradation and redesignation of the post of Nursing Superintendent as Joint Director Nursing and Deputy Nursing Superintendent as Deputy Director Nursing.
It is said that under the Directorate of Health Services, there are around 6 to 7 staff who have the teaching experiences at the level of MSc Nursing and B Sc Nursing for over 20 years.
In addition to this, there are adequate infrastructure for setting up of a Nursing College.
The State Government too has been developing the required physical infrastructures for setting of a Nursing College in Manipur.
Taking into consideration of all these factors, the staff of the School of Nursing have opined that the proposed Nursing College could be made operational from the next academic session.
