As a part of the Government's plan to construct a sport complex in every district of the State, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister N Biren inspected sites for such complex in-different localities of Thoubal district today.
Speaking to reporters YAS Minister Biren informed that detail project reports have been sent to relevant Union Ministries to construct a sports complex in every district of Manipur at the estimated cost of Rs 15 crores (approximately) each.
For such a sports complex in Thoubal district, the Minister inspected possible sites at Kodompokpi ground.
Kakching DSA ground and certain areas of Tangjeng.
After studying the feasibility and availability of land for a multi-discipline sports complex in one of these areas, construction work will be initiated after consultation with the Chief Minister, informed the YAS Minister.
Minister N Biren was accompanied by MLAs Y Surchandra of Kakching A/C, U Deven of Wabagai A/C, Dr Dwijamani of Hiyanglam A/C, M Oken of Heirok A/C, K Meghachandra of Wangkhem A/C and M Hemanta of Wangjing Tentha A/C.The team also visited the Langmeidong football ground where Minister Biren assured all possible assistance to develop the play ground.
