Taking serious note of the ongoing tussle between the manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) and Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) arising out physical assault of the MUSU president and another student of the varsity by DESAM sometimes back, All Manipur Students' Guardian Organisation has fervently appealed for sanity between the two.
speaking to newspersons at the Organisation's office this afternoon, general secretary of the guardians' body O Yaima Singh cautioned that in case the MUSU-DESAM rift persist the end result would be further erosion of academic atmosphere in the State in addition to impeding progress of education-related developmental works.
Insisting that indifferent attitude of the University authorities in resolving the issue at the earliest is one of the main reasons the situation has been turning from bad to worse, Yaima desired that MU authorities take pro-active measures to bring about an amicable end.
Joining in the media briefing, working president of the Organisation N Chaoba called upon student bodies to abandon the concept of galvanising support to strengthen case of either sides and assured the Organisation's cooperation and effort in resolving the issue.
The organisation's secretary S Sumati also called upon representatives of both the DESAM and MUSU to resolve the issue through negotiations without further delay.
