Trucks arrive, fuel sale today, one killed

Imphal, November 08 2011:
Altogether 129 loaded trucks including 86 oil tankers and 17 LPG bullet tankers arrived here this afternoon through NH 37 .
The oil tankers started from Awangkhul with security escorts this morning.
With the arrival of the oil tankers sale of fuel to the public will resume tomorrow, said an official statement issued today .
On the other hand, one transporter was killed when a truck met with an accident.
The truck was part of the convoy of empty trucks which left Imphal for Jiribam yesterday.
The convoy stopped for a while at Irang.
One Moirangthem Sailesh alias Ibungo (30) of Khurai Laishram Leikai who happened to be brother-in-law of the truck owner was travelling in the truck.
As the convoy halted for a while, Sailesh alighted from the truck to buy U Morok.
As the convoy started moving, he tried to jump into the truck but he could not find his foothold and fell down.
Sailesh was run over by the rear wheel of the same truck in which was travelling.
The corpse was brought to RIMS today and later handed over to family after post mortem.
Another driver of an oil-tanker which was travelling in the same convoy was killed after a fatal fall from his truck at Tupul yesterday.
