Imphal, October 06 2009:
Refuting the charges of misconduct on member of Manipur Human Rights Commission Ng Nongyai while coming out from attending a function held in connection with International Peace Day at GM Hall on Oct 2, MLAs E Dwijamani and Lokeshore have clarified that they have not questioned Nongyai why the Commission has quoted Chief Minister in the newspaper nor who appointed the Commission members.
Addressing a press conference late in the evening today, the two MLAs said that they understand the members of Human Rights Commission are quasi-judicial and being firm believer in the Indian Constitution, MLAs have nothing to say in connection with investigation of the Commission into the July 23 incident.
As law abiding citizens, MLAs can also say nothing against the judicial inquiry, the two MLAs added.
