In a pre-dawn swoop, troopers of 7 Assam Rifles busted a camp of the proscribed KYKL located at Keibul Lamjao National Park after heavy exchange of firing from both sides today.
However, there is no report of any casualty on either side or on the endangered Sangai, the browantlered deer which has made the only floating National Park in the world as their natural habitat.

The underground activists who were camping at an overgrown marshy spot located 4 kms from Keibul Sagram fired at the advancing troops at around 5 am leading to exchange of heavy firing from both sides for sometime.
After the firing ceased, the underground activists fled from their camp, the CO said, adding 'most probably, they fled toward Khordak side'.
During the course of searching the area extensively, five huts, two sentry posts and one kitchen were discovered apart from seizing arms, ammunition, household items and many incriminating documents of the KYKL, the CO said.
Various items seized during the operation were also put on display for the mediapersons at the security post of the AR at the guest house of the National Park.
They included one generator set, one invertor set with solar panel, one colour TV, one DVD player with CDs, one DTH set, gas cylinders, stoves, uniforms and other clothes, snacks, utensils, etc.
Arms and ammunition on display included one Single Barrel Hunting Gun, five hand grenades and an empty magazine of M-16.PIB (Defence Wing) in a statement said the camp has been destroyed.
Shot dead : Unidentified gunmen shot dead a person at a spot between Mongyang and Songlung under Kangpokpi Police Station last night.
The victim has not yet been identified.
The body which was recovered this morning was found with hands tied from behind.
There were three fatal bullet marks on his head.
