Imphal, October 16:
A fake appointee against whom the Vigilance Department had filed a chargesheet is still working as the Chief Executive Officer of the District Council Chandel and the Government has not taken up any action against the said person.
According to a reliable source, after a verification drive found that the certificates and marksheets, on whose basis Wulngam Anal was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Chandel District Council are fakes, the Vigilance had framed a chargesheet against him some years back, but he is still occupying the post.
The matter came to light the course of investigation taken up under FIR 23(10) 2000-VPS (u/s-471, 468, 428 IPC), In the chargesheet framed against him, the Vigilance had clearly mentioned the response of the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (24/8/2000) that Wulngam Anal did not pass the matriculation examination under roll no 4667 of the Board in 1972, the source said.
Inspite of this the Government has not taken up any action against the fake appointee, the source added.
On the other hand, along with the instructions given to State Government for recovering the excess amount of Rs 15 lakhs that had been given to the Kolkata based agency Data Infosys in connection with supplying Sony Home Theatres by MANITRON to the schools under the Department of Education (S), the Vigilance has also registered regular FIRs against four persons including the proprietor of the agency for the alleged involvement in the case.
Managing Director of MANITRON Saratkumar, General Manager Santosh and Salesman Joykumar are the other three against whom regular FIRs have been registered by the Vigilance, the source disclosed.
According to another reliable source, the Vigilance has recommended to the Government for awarding major penalty to Dr H Ranjit who is involved in the case of death of a woman identified as Wahengbam Ningol Yambem Ongbi Sachibala during child birth at Langol View Clinic on July 2 this year, as Dr Ranjit is found to have performed the operation without going to his place of posting.
Dr Ranjit has been earning extra income by performing operation at said clinic instead of going to his place of posting at District Hospital, Senapati, the source said, adding that the accused doctor, however, has not yet withdrawn
his NPA.
