State celebrates Mother's Day

Like in other parts of the world Mother's Day was celebrated today with Manipur Baptist Convention Centre Church hosting the event where the Mother of the Year honour was conferred to 77-year old Rawonla Muivah w/o of Yarho Muivah of Dewlahlane.
The honour, which included a certificate and simple gifts, was presented to Rawonla by Rajya Sabha MP rishang keishing.
Out of six children Rawonla struggled to bring them up, three have become IRS officers, one doctor while another is an Inspector in the police Department.
Secretary (youth) of Kuki baptist Convention SL Helkholam addressing the gathering reminded that mothers play the most important role during the lifespan of a human being and as such everybody should take great care for the wellbeing of the mothers.

Further highlighting that mothers suffer the most whenever their children stray from the societal obligations, he also opined that violent incidents being witnessed in the State in an affront to the mothers.
speaking after recieving the award Rawonla expressed that the moment is a great relief as she had struggled immensely to not only bring up her children but also to ensure they become responsible individuals.
Scripture reading and exhortation speeches were the other highlight of the event.
