CM places confidence on November 9 meet with JDDC to unknot Jiri tangle
Ibobi assesses progress of ongoing projects

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has expressed confidence that the ensuing meeting with representatives of Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) will be able to bring about an understanding on the issue of Jiribam district.
Speaking to newspersons while assessing progress of various projects in and around the State capital today, the Chief Minister said a meeting is being convened on November 9 to thrash out differences on the issue of upgrading Jiribam to the status of a full fledged revenue district.
Affirming that concerted efforts would be made to find an amicable solution to the JDDC demand for granting district status to Jiribam sub-division, Ibobi also asserted that all possible measures would be initiated to reopen the National Highways.
With regard to the ongoing economic blockade on both the highways, he simply remarked that complete blockade of the highways will not be acceptable to the Government.

After assessing progress of work at the City Convention Centre, Assembly Secretariat and High Court complexes of the Capitol project, Inter State Bus Terminus and new blocks of the JNIMS, Ibobi said target has been set for completing these projects ahead of the proposed visit of the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who is supposed to inaugurate them later this month.
He, however, conceded that date for inauguration of the projects by the Prime Minister could not be finalised at the moment.
At the City Convention Centre, Palace Compound, the CM personally tested the first ever installation of lift in the State.
He also minutely scanned the 750-seater main auditorium of the Centre as well as the 150-200 seat capacity mini auditorium and the audio-visual room having a capacity to accommodate about 78 persons.
Besides inspecting progress of work of the capitol project complexes and inter state bus terminus, the CM also assessed drain and fencing wall construction activities at the cinema cum theatre hall at Palace Compound.
O Ibobi also joined the Muslim brethrens at a prayer session in connection with the Eid at the Babupara Masjid.
Works Minister K Ranjit, PWD Chief Engineer M Lokendro, Electricity Department Chief Engineer N sarat and officials of various other departments also accompanied the Chief Minister at the inspection visit.
