Some of the poems in this book have depth in meaning. Lonthoktabi Thoudu Noong, the titled poem itself is an in-depth who travels the long journey of life. At the end of his journey the rolling stone is laying in complete change from the past days. He has lost everything and gained nothing. In another poem entitled Ashengba Nungshiba the poet also picks up the symbol. A stone lying inside water is made a living being by the poet. In contrast to the people's negligence about the silence stone the poet praises the good qualities of it. The poem Phajabai Mamou reflects ideals of a good house wife. It is a type of didactic poem. There is obscurity in the meanings and the senses expressed in Punshi Chengjel. Though obscure, the compositions of words are quite winning. The five-line stanza |
