The book features 65 poems. The poems are simple and transparent. Some poems are seen as if appearing in the college magazines. Lovely sights of nature ago depicted in the poem like Chir Chinta, Basanta, Loktak Khongbanda etc. The first sixteen lines of the poem Loktak Khongbanda begin with the sound "i" i.e. Ingna, Inot, Ipak, Irang (these are the initial words of the first four lines). Consciously or unconsciously the poet frequently uses ekara or okara in the spelling of the initial words, especially this poem. Let's see some initial word e.g. Khoitha, Nonglei, Khenpham, Longri, Loktak, Torban etc. In some poems we find the alliterative lines. Let's see, "Sharadki Shamlaba/ Loiba Leichilbu/ Menglaba Meragi" (Chir Chinta), "Matoi Matoi Matoiraba/ Thamoiduna Thaja Thajadana/ Khangninglui Khangam Khangamdana" (Tararoi Taibangna Tanthado. Apart from the final words all words in every line of the poem "A-ouba" begin with "a" sound e.g. "A-onbada ahongba pamlak-i/ Ahongbada anouba pamlak-i/ Anoubada Ahenba Pamlak-i". The second stanza ends with Khallak-i and every line of the next stanza ends with Oirak-i. So goes the composition. Such type of uniformity in composing the lines was frequently seen in the poems by Moirangthem Rajendra of Tentha, who brought out all the poems in one type of style in a single book. The poet shows all the activities of women in his poem Nupi. Like the snakes that carry poisons woman carries secrecy. All the destructive and the constructive powers of women are depicted in this poem. A short poem entitled Mipaikhol reflects the scene of violence and crime in our society. |
