Without A Goodbye, novel revolves around Danica and her mom(Aarti). Aarti lived in Fatehpur in a joint family.
Danica is a loving daughter. Aarti, born as a daughter, a niece, granddaughter, brought up with the relation of a sister, married as a wife, left her home to adopt a new life as a daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, gave birth to new life as a mother.
One afternoon, they had a regular conversation and ended the call. Aarti said that she would call Danica after her exam, in the evening.
In the evening Danica called her mom, but her both mobiles were switched off.
She called her aunt and was informed that her mom was missing since afternoon.
What happened to her and how the thread breaks which unites a family with the sudden incident in a family?
Without A Goodbye is a heat touching story of a dreams, desires, dignity of a woman and the sacrifices of mother for family. It speak about the mindset of the society where generally the females role are not seen as more than a subordinate in her family and almost in every walk of life.
It reflects the broader social ills which and compels one to think and bring some change. The plot is very well designed. It is truly a page turner. Emotions are vividly expressed. Suspense is quite well maintained throughout. Twists and turns make this book worth buying.
Finished it without a break. It is written in simple English which makes it a comfortable read. characters are well established and well portrayed.
Author arise the question in the end of the story that does ending one’s life really end up the problems of the life? Is giving up, the only solution of the problem?
Really a thought provoking and a quality reading specially in memoir style of novel writing.
My Rating: 4.5/5
