Students appearing for High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) in February 2014 :: Pix - Deepak Oinam
Recently I have been to Tura in the Garo Hills, Meghalaya to address some students on a workshop titled guidance and techniques to face board exams along with other speaker.
This programme was organised by one of the university from Himachal Pradesh named Baadi University. After interacting with the students, I could see that confidence is little low amongst students who are going to appear in the board exams. There might be many reason for the same but its time that students must be confident and face the exams so that they could do well in any examination.
As many are appearing for board exams, so, some tips might be useful or helpful for them. Here are some quick tips for last planning and preparation before the board exams.
The most important is to have a positive attitude towards exams. As there are few days ahead for the board exams student might follow certain things like:
> Sleep and eat Well
> Start the day with a positive way
> Late night studies may not help so sleep well and utilise time well.
> Take out time and relax and rejuvenate yourself
> Do not get anxious a day prior to the exam.
> Revise well, relax and just be comfortable.
There should a fixed timetable in order to study in a regular manner; one should make a timetable for each day. This can help a student manage time for all the subjects in a proper way. Make a regular routine or fix a particular portion to be studied each day. Make sure to complete the fixed portion the same day.
It's time to understand basic concepts behind the subjects. One can make a brief not and try to make brief notes as one cannot study everything one day before exam or a last moment. Aspirants may have variety in your daily study and try to study different subjects in a day and do not just stick to one for hours.
Variety in your study will keep one interested in it. As we cannot start again from beginning so we can also focus on weaker subjects; one must give some extra time your weaker subjects everyday and try making them strong within the limited time. One of the most important things is not to lose your concentration. One must keep all required things ready with all the necessities before sitting at study table as it save time.
One may try to solve sample papers and previous years question papers with proper time. This will give a student more confidence. Appearing or arranging mock test enhances your confidence
Some of the tips during Exam time at the hall:
> Read the question paper well and carefully so that things can be organised and manage time to finish them on time.
> Manage time well time management is important during exam time.
> Plan in advance how much time you will dedicate to each question and category and stick to it.
> Draw diagrams and others neatly , neat handwriting, proper question numbers (this might be a mistake due to tension)
These are not only the tips as there are many others. One should follow or plan according to their convenience. Different students have different abilities and a [proper planning helps them getting good marks and pass the board exams. Our desire, passion with a proper planning will lead us towards success.
