Sita Mata as test-tube baby

Sita mata (wife of Ramji Pravu) was born out of a pitcher. King Janak (papa of Sitaji) found the pitcher while ploughing his field. One Minister says that it could have been a result of some test-tube baby project of those days. What is so objectionable about his statement? I don't understand.

When Karna could be conceived and born within seconds, what is so amazing about the possibility of a test-tube baby some few thousand years before the birth of Karna. When some western Scientists say Octopus could be an alien. We tend to believe. When we say Ganeshji survived because of our ancient expertise in organ transplantation and plastic surgery, everyone tend to laugh at.

I can't comprehend. Perhaps we are still not free from the western superiority complex (subservient). When the theory of Darwin was challenged by another Minister, everybody grumbles. Even our own scientific community dismissed him. The issue was 'why monkeys are not evolving now, whether the evolutionary process has stopped'. Very pertinent question!

Again we believe in the modern nuclear (fission and fusion) weapons and we don't trust the existence of our ancient nuclear weapons like Bramhastras . One may argue that the modern weapons were tested and practiced in Hiroshima and Nagasaki where as the ancient weapons were never demonstrated. That means ancient people were more responsible.

Mahabharat and Ramayan might have been treated by historians as ancient Indian scriptures which were compiled over a period of time perhaps perfected during the golden period of the Guptas. My simple contention is 'one cannot bring out something as an art form or composition from thin air without any linkage with human existence, social milieu and psyche'.

Those who were responsible to compose such stories must be human beings living in those days and who were fully aware of the capabilities of super-humans, godly-men etc. I am not saying that those were real, but certainly something to do with the realities and feasibilities of those eras. When the western scholars hint that Pyramids could have been built by highly advanced people (may be aliens) we tend to ponder.

When we say that Ramji Pravu and intelligent monkeys built a bridge between India and Srikanka, everybody is shying away. Only when NASA says the Adams Bridge/ Ram Setu is manmade, we start believing. When Baba Ramdev says parnayam can normalize blood pressure and blood sugar, initially everyone remains skeptical.

But today the world acknowledges the benefits of yoga. Ayurveda can cure every disease, still people tend to ignore; let us see in a few years from now all kinds of patients of the world will come to India for treatment. When a dead man (Laxmanji) could be revived within a stipulated time by the power of a Himalayan herb, do you think that we can't treat cancer?

Shakuntala could defeat computers, please don't under-estimate the power of Indian minds. Ramanujan knew better than his contemporaries. Homi Bhava was killed in a freak plane crash, because they knew that his atomic knowledge was par excellence. If we try to explain our culture & civilization through the knowledge of modern western education, it may sound illogical or unscientific or irrational.

However there are numerous exotic things in our culture and tradition which cannot be explained by the limited knowledge of the western world. For instance a Mauryan king was consuming poison every day so that he could survive any assassination attempt by poisoning. This will be understood by those who can perceive ancient Oriental tradition ( Chanakya/ Tao tradition).

Occidental historians say that wine is as old as their civilization; no one denies. When we say that soma/sura/ yu is older than western wine, one hardly believes. At least we must believe ourselves. If we still think that Oriental civilization/history/mythology is to be interpreted by the westerners, there is something seriously wrong with our approach.

Western civilization including Greco-Roman world is much younger than our ancient civilization. Oja Kokyet used to tell us that Kangla is the omphalos of the earth which is the creation of 'Atiya-Guru-Sidaba' (master of eternal universe), we did not take him seriously. When Stephen Hawking says "there is no beginning and end of the universe", we start thinking he may be right.

Our attitude 'the horns of foreign bulls are longer than ours' must be discarded if possible. Otherwise we will always have the impression that Robinhood was greater than Ratnakar or Rani Gaidinliu.
