Read Second Lesson of the Tortoise and Hare

"A conference is a gathering of important people who singly can do nothing, but together can decide that nothing can be done."
- Fred Allen

People may sound crazy for what I wrote, but I wrote what I saw and what I come across, a few article that I pen down got both –Ve and +ve feedback, no doubt, I am not much concerned. My intention is to share a little which I saw and which I can represent through writing.

I am sure that employment in our own state is a big problem; except Defence Employment. I was traveling by a second class sleeper reservation, when I first switch for my management studies, in the same compartment S-9, there I met some well educated uncle, they were on journey to drop their son to Mangalore, and he himself is serving in High Court, Manipur. He is BTech Graduate from Madras University .

I had a very good time with him, in fact he make my journey short. He told me that there is no scope in the state after completion of Management studies, I feel sad to his comment as I am going to join for the said degree.

Suddenly my face turn off, I thought I was in wrong direction, but no doubt I am sure for what I want and will continue to get it. Actually that was my first step to learn about a corporate world.

My parents were Baby Boomer generation and believe only in job security i.e. government jobs that were indeed three years back from now.

Whenever I go home I am to explain about my jobs and you wouldnt believe that still many young generations who graduated with Engineering and Master from the State University were in the mind that professional means only Government or in public sector.

They were not aware that even a private sector like Infosys, Tata, Satyam, GE and private Universities like Manipal, ICFAI, for example provides better then what we got in Govt Organization. They were implant with going to office at late morning and winding up the duty at early evening or in afternoon.

They were surprise listening that I work 9 hours a day. Once I call up a candidate whose academic sounds good, he is rank holder with distinction mark, I call him for our project opening, and the very first question that he asked me is. ”Tamo government company ra natraga semi governement” he even asked how long his employment will be... ”is that life time job”?

Then I got surprise and said you want to be in the same organization for life time. That’s very loyal, which will not be applicable in case of me. I said many professional were not looking for life time jobs. I even explain that with his qualification there are many opportunities. He is underestimating by the environment including him.

I hope many of us might be confused. What is the message with this article? I hope I can’t convince you. So that’s why I make you confused there is saying if you cant convinced people make them confused. Well let me try to share what my article’s message is about.

Many educated people are lying in the state waiting for the so call life time employement and degrade their intellectual capacity, making no used of what they learn. Many are not aware that there is lots of opportunities besides governement jobs.

It’s your will to come out and grasp the opportunities. The era is pay for what you contribute. We give you money. In return we expect your capability as an intellectual. The fear to work for 24/7 culture, the fear of their capability and absence of awareness of corporate world is a big blockage to individual exposure to outer environment.

There is fear of unknown, there is so call homesick that is exist in our youngster. They were freeze with the fear of unknown.

Dont worry, you will accommodate once you come out from unknown, the second law of change. We might be hearing lots of fact files that there were few wars that happen internally. Every great kind comes out and win the battle and make their home in unknown place. Dont you think so.

We can’t blame our government for unemployment, if we take the ratio of population of the state to that of government service in the state; I hope we will be among top 10 states who work for government organization.

Many of us are not sure for what we want, for example a Civil engineer graduate is working as a teacher in one of the primary school, here I would like to put up, is that what he or she want, perhaps not. He/she would love to be a civil engineer.

Do we need to blame the government, for example we might be having atleast 100 engineer pass out every year from the state, should the government need to give job for all 100 engineer. Is this what we want.

With just 25-30 lakhs population, we ask a number of vacancies which does not hold any meaning. Everyday many defense people are recruiting to make more problems. I hope if we count, every individual in the state will get one security personnel and the said security personnel will get one security man for him.

Many of us thought that government job is divine give, they were in the mind that they will get their salary whether they work or not. But do anyone of us think that everywhere we need the result or get paid for what we are.

I know its nature of every human being, and saying goes home sweet home hold true to everyone. there would be no one who does not want to be at home. We have lots of manpower surplus but everyone is looking for opportunities at home state. But this also can be done it, provided we joined our hand together.

Many private organization/corporate would like to grasp the opportunities in state like Manipur, in short in North East India. They want the opportunities but no one is willing at the cost of life which they fear for it.

Business does not hold any meaning until we make profit. But with population size what will be the profit with so much demand or share where many outfit operating in the state were looking.

I hope many of us must witness that some private organization who come to the state switch off their business due to share and demand from our social minded organization. Even the state government takes century for statutory clearance for entry of some organization which ultimate fails to get them back. So it’s lost of opportunities to you, to me and for all of us.

Do anyone of us think what will be the best solution to all these. I hope everyone has solution theoretically but fear of expression. You must fear, if you shout today for betterement, next day in your doorstep you will see some young generation who cannot expressed what they are to advice you. But anyway every single words of us will combine to make a big sound which will definitely heard if we joined .

So its high time, the operating parties in the state like government, social organization, various agencies and not the least we the people must collaborate together to make the route free for entry of private organization/corporate which will generate thousands of employment, if not atleast hundreds of employment would be there.

There must be encouragement from the state who would like to be an entrepreneur giving then opportunities in return which will generate employment for the state. Its right time to think about it. We must ignore the idea of getting paid for doing nothing.

Its an era that we get paid for what we do. It’s the time that at the end of the day your output for the day is measurable either qualitatively or quantitatively. It’s the day where we must study the second chapter or the second phase of the story of tortoise and rabbit.

There is big saying that the greatest happiness for doing a thing is doing what people say you can’t do. It’s not something which we can’t change. One man changes the world. So let’s join and make our state a free entrant of private organization. The benefit will be more of us. It’s the era of customer.

Days are gone where people are cost center concept. People are asset, they are mover, they are innovative. We will have a good environment even in private organization.

To conclude, my simple request to all is that there is nothing that can’t move if we join together . A big boulder is move by a small lever.

Affirmative action is an effort to develop a systematic approach to open the doors of education, employment and business development opportunities to qualified individuals who happen to be members of groups that have experienced long-standing and per- Bill Clinton
