The PLAY
This is a tragic story of a beautiful but orphan girl Shaireiwon. Suisa, the son of the Chief of Nguiram Village falls in love with Shaireiwon. She too loves him dearly but the family of Suisa is not ready to accept her as their daughter-in-law.
On the other hand, Lungshi, the uncle of Shaireiwon has accepted the MANHO of five buffaloes for Shaireiwon in marriage to Pamza, the son of the Chief of Karo Village. At the meantime, she is inflicted by Leprosy and is barred from the Village to live in the forest. After recovery she come to her Village.
But for her it was only Suisa to whom she given her heart. When Shaireiwon rejected the proposal to marriage with Pamza, the two families plan out to kidnap her on the way. And it does so. She was rescued in time by Suisa accompanied by his friend.
The angry Karo Chief, the father of Pamza ask Lungshi to return the Manho along with two more buffaloes as the penalty for the betrayal.
Though, everything is settled at the end, the father of Suisa in no condition are ready to accept Shaireiwon as his daughter-in-law. In distress, nothing left for Shaireiwon, so she decides to end her life.

The DIRECTOR
Ashing Zimik is one of the most popular actors of the Tangkhul films. He acted in more than thirty Tangkhul films and in three films as a Hero. Moreover, he directed in many Drama and Films. He went to Delhi in the year 2009 as an Assistant Director of the Tangkhul Folk play, Ashang Eina Aton and also at J.N. Dance Academy, Imphal in 2008 with Khenjonglong.
The GROUP
Zingko Repertoire was founded in the year 2008 under the guidance of Dr. S. Thaninleima, Director, Khenjonglang, Imphal, Manipur. This group is one of the youngest theatre groups in Manipur, but it is the only theatre group in Ukhrul District. The main objective of this group is to explore the innate talent of the young people in the field of theatre and to promote culture. In collaboration with Khengjonglang the Tangkhul Folk Play Ashang and Aton was performed at J.N.M. Dance Academy, Imphal in 2008 and participated in the Bharat Rang Mahotsav, New Delhi in 2009.
