**My (Late) Father Shri Meirajao Palmei was the son of (Late) Shri Hujeng Palmei and (Late) Shrimati Chamu Palmei. Since he was born in 1920 during which India was still under the British government, my grand parents had difficulties in settling down. Due to this reason my father too, had to go through many difficulties regarding his studies and daily life. He often keeps shifting his place of stay from one place to another due to the colonialism and the World War–II affecting greater part of India as a whole and our princely state Manipur.
But then my grandparents somehow managed and finally settled down in a small Kabui village called Keishamthong Kabui Khul in Imphal. Life in those days was quite hard and going to school was not easy though. Despite all the difficulties, my father was determined to go to school so he attended School and a night College. After which he ultimately completed his academic studies successfully.
He completed his graduation in the year 1952 and thus became the 1st Graduate among our Kabui community as per the record. Besides in 1972, he got MCS, which was the first among our community. Moreover, he had the opportunity to serve as clerk during the World War-II in A.R.M Company and had also been an Interpreter during the World War–II for the British.
** Not to be forgotten, my father was one of the founders of the "KABUI SAMITI". On 7th November 1965, he was awarded for being the First Graduate by the Manipur Zeliangrong Naga Student Union on the 4th General Session at Ragailong, Imphal.
** The above Work profile and life experiences of my (Late) Father Shri Meirajao Palmei, is a short summary and is precisely written. Though there are many more unrecorded works file which are yet to be produced. However, so much so, we are proud of him and to call him "Father-dearest." FOR, he was a man with high intellect and mental agility.
He was sincere in his views and worked with deep sincerity both in public as well as in personal life. A man to be recalled and cherished for he was the First person among our Kabui community by becoming the First Graduate (B.A) in 1952 and 1st MCS (1972), and thus throwing a positive path for the generation to come.. As it may be resounded, the possibility of positive inspiration that says "A well education can bring hope and light to the people, for the development and welfare of the society as a whole. "'
