MC Mary Kom and Sarita Laishram donated flood relief materials to the flood affected families of Komnao village
Each family has been provided a Tata Wash Smart water filter under the DM/H2M project.
Komnao village, one month after badly affected by recent flood, still has 31 families taking shelters under the roof of relief camps and temporary sheds. These families are expected to live in such undesirable living conditions for few more months. Dynamic Manipur (DM) / Helping Hands Manipur (H2M) volunteers have visited the village for distributing relief materials (each pack has 3 kgs rice, 1 kg potato, 1 kg masoor dal, 1 kg salt, half liter mustard oil, one pack candle, mosquito coil and skin ointment) donated by International medal winning boxers MC Mary Kom and Sarita Laishram.
Each family is also provided a Tata Swach Smart water filter (Silver nanotechnology filter) having 15 liters capacity. These water filters are donated under the project "Potable Water Supply to Flood Victims through Pond Restoration and Filtration Units – Manipur Flood 2015" conducted by DM/H2M. The project is funded by generous associations and individuals from India and abroad. Donor associations are Korea Manipuri Association (KMA) with support from Indians in Korea, Manipuri Association of Canada (MAC), San Francisco Bay Area Manipuri Community and North American Manipur Association (NAMA, coordinated by Flood Relief Manipur). Several Manipuri Diaspora Individuals across the globe have donated over 1 lac INR to assist the flood relief efforts.
Komnao is a village having 87 households under Sekmaijin Zilla Parishad, Aarong Nongmaikhong Gram Panchayat, Thoubal District. It is located about 2 km southern way from Thongjao. Recent flood spared only 6 houses out of these 87 houses. People were taking shelter in temporary sheds, waiting shed, village community hall. People are very sincere, innocent and hardworking.

As on September 2, 2015 total fund collected for the DM/H2M's relief activities and pond restoration project is INR 484103 [expenditure of INR 388916 and with remaining fund of 95187].
In continuing effort of the goodwill project to restore 50 equivalent community ponds damaged by recent flood at different villages of Thoubal District and distribution of 100 water filtration units to relief camps of Chandel and Thoubal districts, DM and H2M volunteers have treated so far over 20 ponds and distributed 35 water filter units at several flood affected villages and families respectively. So far relief materials have been provided to about 800 flood affected families of different villages of Thoubal District.
