If I remember correctly my first encounter with Chinese product was when I was at school in sixties, it was a fountain pen I could not remember the name but it was definitely "Made in China".
At that point of time, Chinese products are not up to the mark, we are fancier in "Made in Japan". Slowly and steady they are
producing the consumer able item in the world market. Many of our so called Moreh Market Goods are indeed made in China.
My sister-in-law went to South Africa and she brought something for me, when I look carefully it comes out to be 'Made in China'.
My recent visit to my sister's place at Dubai supermarkets are full of "Made in China".
I have spend a good time at Europe with a Chinese friend his name is Dr Wang, he is a good football player one day he ask me to
go to the market of Rome to buy a pair of shoe for his football game we tried all the stores to find out made in Europe or Italy we are miserably failed to get it all.
Most of the shoes are 'Made in China' in his slow English vocabulary he was telling me that "Sharma I don't want Chinese made I want European one!!!". The whole market of Europe is flooded with Chinese products.
Recently American wants to increase the Import duty to the product of Chinese origin but politician worry it will increase the price of Chinese Goods which control Ninety percent of Supermarkets Chain in the US.
They are real bania of world market, in my field, of my interest family planning, they are the pioneer in population control like 'No scalpel vasectomy' and Abortion pill like Mifipristone and Misoprostone which was patented by USA food and drug licenser (FDA).
Many of our young boys and girl from Manipur are spending time and money for study of medicine at China. But one disturbing feature is organ transplant business, they execute prisoner who raised their voice against the State, their organ are sold in the hospital - a very lucrative business for the rich countries like Middle East and Europe.
We cry here for Human Right. I hope one can compare with Manipur and China where one cannot have more then one child for us, we can have as many as we want to have it until the couple exhausted.
Here some of our NGO openly dictate to us that we should have more children otherwise we will be lost from this world, but I could
not digest it.
Late Bisheswore went to Lhasa, Tibet to baptise the revolution but the remaining is the turbulent history of Manipur.
Now at Manipur every household is full of "Made in China" but the most disturbing thing is the Arm and Ammunitions which are "Made in
China". Common finding are the Hand Grenade, beautiful slick and money productive and yes "Made in China".
The same old story - it was a Chinese hand grenade which was thrown to one of my colleague's residence at Churachandpur,
the effect is a one day closure at Churachandpur District Hospital on 27th September 2006. I don't know when will be my turn ....
hopefully it will never come before my superannuation.
I felt very angry that I should not have gone to China with WHO scholarship, which produce many undesirable things in this world.
My lap top LENOVO which was brought by my youngest son now I am writing with American software Microsoft word, shall I abandon this
hardware may be, may be not.
I don't like Chinese Hand Grenade but I can't live without my Laptop which is also "Made in China".
