The sixth annual gathering of the European Manipuri Association will be held from the 14th to the 16th of July 2006 in the picturesque hamlet of Mankinholes on the edge of the moorland near Manchester, England.
This year's annual gathering will take place in a four-star refurbished hostel that has been exclusively booked for the occasion. Though the event is primarily meant to
be an occasion for members to gather and share their experiences of living in Europe, discussions will also be held on the role that EMA can play to uplift Manipuri society.
This year's attendees will include members from Germany, Sweden, and Austria making the event a truly trans-national affair amalgamated with a distinct Manipuri flavour.
Attending members will also include not only those born in Manipur but also those who have developed a love for Manipur and her culture through various relations.
To the delight of all the attendees, a few members have volunteered to showcase their culinary skills and agreed to prepare a whole range of traditional Manipuri dishes!
Members will also have opportunities to bond and network during informal games of ludo, connect four, snake and ladder, and karaoke.
More information on the get-together can be found at the website of the European Manipuri Association and those interested in attending
should immediately contact EMA as there are only a limited number of places left.
This year's event is expected to be very successful and we hope to have a full house.
