Bullet Versus Pen
By SaNaTomBi Angomcha*
None to be accused for the alienation therapy, that Manipur and rest of North eastern states have been undergoing.
Especially in an alienated state like Manipur, it is not a different cup of tea to notice National Media's as well as other private news channel's partial treatment in terms of coverage.
A child's unusual wail in some part of Bihar or UP can become the breaking news of the day in every single media channel.
However, the killings and sufferings of so many innocent lives back in Manipur and the rest of North Eastern states are being paid a deaf ear by almost all the news channels.
No clean sheet can be sought as of why they do not cover relevant news pertained to this part of the nation. And here is how accusation is just accusations away.
A bungling battle between 'Bullet and Pen' is something beyond the syllabus of a modern newsperson.
Once upon a time there was a saying 'A pen is mightier than a sword'.
But in a modern society, this quotation has been objected and the objection has so far sustained.
And particularly in a state like Manipur, where the civilians are bullied from both ends, no news channel dares to explore or expose any relevant news.
Quite a shame to notice how we are sustaining with a bare communication breach, and more shameful to notice that we are living sans any solution.
