Brutal and inhuman act to the students
July 9, 2015:
Sunrise Manipur extremely condemn the brutal and inhuman act to the students of our State. The barbaric act of Manipur police is a clear indication of total failure of home department of Manipur where they consider suppressing the moments by any means to the public demand is a mere solution to this ethical uproar of implementation of Inner Line Permit(ILP).
Such misconduct by government to suppress this movement will result in more upheaval chaos to the State after the death of an innocent school boy, Sapam Robin hood, son of Sapam Romesh from Khurai lairikyengbam leikai who is currently pursuing 11th standard in Ananda Academy.
Our State force has been trained to use tear gas and mob control in the police training(MPTC)Pangei, but it does not mean that their skills be utilized to kill the innocent students who were heading to safeguard the indigenous peoples with the demand to implement ILP in our State and moreover a rally or protest is not considered Mob and the constitution provides every citizens a freedom of speech and right to safeguard indigenous right. Most unfortunate about our state force is the use of excessive and inappropriate power that is given to them.
The Imphal east and west has been imposed with indefinite Curfew which will again affect all hand to mouth survival. SUNRISE extend our deepest condolence to the untimely departure of great soul of our soil and share the grief with the family of deceased and all injured young students.
Therefore, we demand a immediate lifting of the Curfew imposed in Imphal and the immediate action to be taken up for fair judicial inquiry into the incident and bring justice to the family.
