Board exam results can't be your life's weather forecast

As a mark of present uncaring rolling days, there seems to pop out an iota towards all and sundry weighing down doubt. Once, with great power came great responsibilities but now it's no longer holds true for the same. It has changed to the coming of great electric bills. Ever since you got a stage to act in this world, your parents have been taking wrong steps, thinking it's the most correct one. They think success will come with hard work.

From childhood you have been to do everything hardly, study hardly, work hardly, so and so on. Have anybody told you to study happily, work joyfully, etc.? To make it clear hard work is not the reason behind any success. People are successful because they do the right thing. Parents teach their wards that life is a mess just because their life was, funny right?

Do you put stones in your pocket while jogging in the morning? This is truly an insane question but to make the point clean, this needs to be thrown. It will certainly make you heavy and slower down more. Is it in your will to carry that stone with you or not to? Brightly YES, it's in your will. Same as this, it rolls over the same platform of fear. Fear is just the same as the stone in the jogging story. Will you like to carry fear in exam? No one will like to.

As we walk through, we keep hearing about the exam fears. But never even think once for why this is happening. Reasons may differ from individual to individual, but the root cause remains the same. Everyone stated to focus on marks. All the social pressure increased like anything. "Son! You have to score 90% or above, don't let me down," it has become the main threat. It would have been much better if it was like "Son! Before exam comes, try to understand everything."

Peer pressure is also taking a leading role in this. Competitions based on marks make them fall on the track leading to nowhere. No use, just upgrading animosity amongst them. The funniest thing and a huge point to proof that our education system is off the track is the use of memory pills to increase their memory power. Are you going to schools and colleges to memorize all the books or to understand? Do you need memory capsules to understand things? What is the purpose of education? To look for the highest scorer, am I wrong?

Right from the beginning of your class, teachers will give important notes, teach only the exam portions, talks about how to score, will say to by heart direct definitions to get solid marks and so on. This copy-paste system is increasing its tentacles, it giving you nothing but exam fear. You are afraid that you might not be able to paste the whole thing. This illusion is maximizing because you are tapped by this trap. As you are physically trapped in this tune, the only way to set yourself free from these, is to change your perspective.

If you go to school thinking that you are going to learn something new today then will you feel any tension relating to educational issues? If you go to school thinking you will clear all the doubts then there won't be any more tensions. You never felt that you are going to school for gaining knowledge but to fill your memory for vomiting in a favourable platform and pop in to work life. Going on life from this perspective will give you tensions, nothing more. You will feel that everything around you is competing with you, you will feel that you can hide your doubts by getting some good marks.

To talk about how to make ourselves fall into the world of learning, we need to get the habit of applying things. When you start applying things that you learn inside the four walls, you will start loving and enjoying every line of your text book. All the things that you find in your books, dug it out and apply it in your daily life.

This education system tries to mould all, means everyone will be same. Same set of rules, they want everyone should be same like cats and dogs. Hey! You are human being. You should grow like a wild flower. They don't want something new, they just want you to be same like others. They don't want something unfamiliar, they just want familiar things.

As a regular reader, Miss Mayadarshini Laishram, a student of HERBERT poured out her heavenly truthful feeling taking shape of an advice from humanitarian perspective i.e. 'A dog's happiness or sadness depends on his master because he is his slave.

If your happiness depends on your class ranking, then you are a slave because your inner happiness is being controlled by someone external.' After you are into these things, there will be no more exam tensions, no more fear for exam. Even if you get good marks, you will want to work harder. Other way round falls for the same, if you get low, you will try to focus on the weak ones and shine brighter. Then only, you will start comparing yourself today with yourself yesterday. The day you flag off this mantra, you will feel like having exams every day.
