The 4th webinar series on ‘How to crack NEET [Medical entrance]: A panel discussion with MBBS students of JNIMS on 11 Oct 2020
Knowledge Exchange Network, Manipur (KEN) based at Boston, USA, is a voluntary organization collectively run by Manipuri professionals across the world. Its sole aim is to create career and employment opportunities in Manipur through knowledge transfer and skilling youth by synergizing the local need and best means available in the world.
The 4th webinar series was conducted as a panel discussion on ‘How to crack NEET [Medical entrance test] for the school students from Manipur on Sunday, October11, 2020. Shri RK Herojit, KEN President [Singapore] started the session telling a short history of medicine in Manipur and its growing path.
He recalled the sacrifices made by each of the medical practitioners during such pandemic time. He also moderated the panel discussions. Further Dr. Jayanta Yumnam, KEN General Secretary [Guwahati] shared the Mission and Vision of KEN to the participants (http://kenmanipur.org/aim-and-objective/).
5 MBBS students from JNIMS, namely Diyajit Yumnam, Luchingba Ningomban, Sushma Kshetrimayum, Neili Athokpam and Th. Ave Haleno shared several useful tips with the participating students and some parents about the preparation strategy and best possible techniques.
In turn, each of the MBSS students shared their tips-
o The criteria for appearing the exam, concern subjects, marking system and question patterns.
o How to prepare a good timetable, to-do list and set targets.
o Strategies to achieve the goal, how to choose best study material.
o How to cope during a coaching and ways to practice during mock test targeting the final exam.
o Learn from the mistake and bring constancy during the preparation.
o Many practice yoga and short listening music for avoiding peer or social pressure.
They recommended to start the preparation from class XI as almost half of the questions in NEET examination is from class XI syllabus. It is very useful to make own notes by collecting important information from different sources. The previous year question banks help a lot during preparation and makes more confidence. NCERT books are mostly referred. During the exam, the suggested maximum time to spend on single question is 2minutes.
An interactive Q&A session was held between the panelists and the participating students on how to prepare the NEET examination.

UNACCO Academy, Unacco School, Vikas Vidya Niketan and Xtra edge School etc.
Shri Lakshmikant Laikangbam, KEN Finance Secretary gave the Vote of thanks at the end of the event. He encouraged the students to work very hard to pursue their dream career.
