Dust
Jodha Chandra Sanasam *
O dust!
Fly, drift!
Scatter! Spread out!
Far and wide!
If you want to;
whose might is there to ban you?
You have been all along
since the creation of cosmos and earth
you have all your liberty.
The Shajeebu rains will come, of course
they will wash you out for certain.
So
don't you even think of it
to slip back or stay put
don't ever get deposited
on Kombeerei or Kushum Lei.
Dirts many there are
filthier than you,
debris decayed and decomposed,
fermenting into rots,
fungus, cobwebs, deposts ample;
I resent this partiality
their hatred towards you only
why not towards mud sludge too?
But
you better keep this
at the back of your mind;
one day they will become exasperated,
they will throw libels at you
those whose eyes you caused irritation;
that time
I shall not be able to stand for you.
For now,
get blown up and rush in their nose, mouth
suffocate them
then only they will look for
clean fresh air unpolluted and uncorrupted
yes, for the Wind of Life!
Leap up and splash in their eyes
irritate and blind them
only then they will search for water!
Clear water!
Yes for water, the Nectar of Life!
But, for them, to wash their eyes;
only then they will see
the light! The Light of Life!
