Imphal, May 13 2010: The Naga People's Organisation (NPO), Senapati district has strongly condemned the burning down of medical/health infrastructure in the district.

Taking serious note of the burning down of the Family Welfare Office located near district hospital at Senapati district Hqs by some unidentified persons in the wee hour yesterday, the NPO, in a press release, denounced any form of violence or destruction against any medical institutions/structures.

The raging fire destroyed huge stocks of medicines, freezing equipment, immunization machines and office rooms of CMO and DIO together with important documents.

Observing that it was an unjustifiable action, NPO said that it will investigate into the matter immediately.

It also appealed to all concerned organisations and individuals to restrain from burning down public offices specially health/medical, fire service, educational institutions etc.
