Imphal, May 09 2010: Even though the State Govt has sought Army's assistance in removing road blocks like boulders and trees put up along NH-39, the road blocks have not been removed till today.

Spokesperson of the SPF Govt and Sports Minister N Biren, however, claimed that the Army have initiated move to clear the barricades put up at different points along the National Highway.

Howqever, one army officer said that the highway clearance work has not been initiated due to a number of reasons including protest demonstrations staged by womenfolk at different places along the highway.
