Imphal, June 03 2010: The SPF Government is yet to take a firm decision on security arrangement for transportation of essential goods, particularly petrol and petroleum products through the Imphal-Jiribam section of National highway 53 .

A reliable source said authorities of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution had already made an official proposal to the Chief Secretary for security arrangement in order to resume vehicular traffic along the highway stretch.

however, there is no positive response to the intimation till date, according to the source who, when querried, also declined to inform when the proposal was actually made.
