Imphal, March 09: Following failure of the public to submit statements in the magisterial inquiry instituted in connection with the custodial torture and sexual harassment meted out to M Naobi by Thoubal police commandos, time for filing has been extended till 4:30 pm tomorrow.

As per the schedule, submission of affidavits must be done by March 8.However it was extended till tomorrow following a petition from the victim's counsel for extension of time to submit affidavits.

An order was issued today to this effect.

Schedule for hearing of the inquiry would be decided by District Magistrate later.
