Imphal, May 10 2010: A team of Lamlai police station rescued an abducted Congress candidate of ADC polls from Shaijang today.

Paojalet Touthang (55) s/o late Pungkhohao, Congress candidate in an ADC Constituency under Saikul Sub-Division was abducted by unknown persons at near Nongjum village of Imphal East district under Lamlai PS at around 5:30 am today.

Paojalet was travelling in a Bolero with five others when the miscreants stopped the vehicle and abducted him.

Police however rescued him at around 10 am.
