Imphal, May 06 2010: Taking serious note of the high voltage tension gripping all over the State of Manipur, the Association of Premier State College Seniors (APSCS) Manipur has urged upon the Union Government to act immediately in a way to defuse the tension before it turns out of control.

The present crisis arising out of Muivah's tactical move projecting intransigent stance apparently propelled by the Centre's lenient attitude has magnified the issue requiring exercise of a sound judgement and fair deal that would perpetuate the pluralistic society Manipur has been experiencing over the centuries.

A memorandum submitted by the association to the Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh said that acting in a manner that would not aggravate the situation could be the first step towards bringing about an understanding between the two groups involved.
