Imphal, August 04 2009: Taking into consideration the charged atmosphere, the State Government has imposed curfew in the Greater Imphal areas with effect from 10 pm until further orders.

The order to this effect was issued by the District Magistrates of Imphal East and Imphal West today evening.

In case of emergencies or people who want to take out marriage ceremonies or for funeral, prior written permission must be sought either from the DM or the SP concerned.

Law enforcement agencies and essential services are exempted.
